Gold Lounges at Walt Disney World

Gold is for our favourite lounges, these places are our must visits. The Gold category has everything, from amazing theme, great food and drinks. These lounges are as dear to us as some of the rides at Walt Disney World.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Geyser Point Bar & Grill is definitely one of our favourite places to visit. Geyser Point Bar & Grill is located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. If it is really crowded during the day at Magic Kingdom we like to take the boat to Wilderness Lodge and relax at Geyser Point. We feel that the lounge is really accessible even if you are not staying at Wilderness Lodge as you can just take the boat.

Mjau, Delicious food and drinks! I'm in heaven!

The lounge is right by Bay Lake. The view is amazing and it feels so relaxing there. You do not have a view to Magic Kingdom or Contemporary Resort. We actually like this as it transports you to another world. Mjau, it reminds us of our old summer cottage in Finland. Geyser Point is especially nice when it is hot outside as you get a small cooling breeze from the bay. One downside with this lounge is that you can get unlucky with the seating. We usually come back later or wait if we do not get the seat we want. Mjau, we want to sit in the lounge chairs closest to the bay. We will accept any of their lounge chairs, however the regular chairs are just unacceptable! Mjau!

Delicious burgers!

The drinks here are great and we usually get a Mai Tai or anything else with Rum. The food at Geyser Point is also really delicious. Better than most lounges. We have tried different burgers and fried oysters and have not been disappointed once. This is one of the few lounges we go to for the food as well as the drinks.

Mjau, more burgers and drinks!

Nomad Lounge

Delicious cocktails and relaxing view!

Nomad Lounge is a definite must-visit for us. Nomads Lounge is located on Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom. Nomad Lounge is connected to Tiffins restaurant and is right by the bridge to Pandora. Before Pandora opened the Nomad Lounge was really relaxed, now you can see people walking across the bridge. There is however enough vegetation that it does not feel that crowded. You can get seating outside or inside. We prefer to sit outside by the railing closest to the water. Mjauhihi, we usually turn the chairs so we do not have to see other guests and get an unobstructed view of the lake and forest. We have never had any issues finding seats at Nomad Lounge and the lounge being in Animal Kingdom makes it extremely accessible.

Even reading the menu is an experience!

Delicious and interesting food!

Delicious drink! Mjauhihi Aunties only got water!

We really like the drinks here, the Leaping Lizard is our favourite. The food here is also really good and different from regular bar and lounge food. You can also ask your server for Tiffins menu and get a snack or appetiser from there. The menu at Nomad Lounge changes very often which is a good thing as you get to try new things all the time. A downside is that if you have a favourite on the menu it might not be there on your next visit.

Delicious food and a non-alcoholic beverage for a change!

The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge

Delicious margarita flight!

The Hollywood Brown Derby is located at Hollywood Boulevard in Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is a Lounge that has slowly grown on us. We did not leave our first visit that impressed. Mjau, however now it has become one of our favourite lounges and a must visit during our Walt Disney World trips. In our earlier draft we had actually put The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge in the Silver Category.

Mjau, really delicious and refreshing food!

We really enjoy the location. It is right by Hollywood Boulevard and the walkway is almost always crowded. There is enough fences and trees that the crowds do not disturb your visit if you sit closer to the wall. Mjau, if you sit right by the fence, as we did on our first visit, it can start to feel stressful with all the people walking in a rush. Mjau, you are also able to catch the March of the First Order from the lounge. The drinks here are delicious and the food is also really tasty. Mjau, we really enjoy the Margarita Flight. It is really a great value for money. You basically get tree drinks for almost the price of one, which is amazing at Walt Disney World. They also have a Martini Flight, however we prefer Margaritas. We also really enjoyed the Mini Dessert Trio that they offered. You get to select three desserts you want from a list of around five. It is perfect for us as we get bored easily and like to try different things. The downside to The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is that as it is so accessible and visible, it is usually crowded and it could be difficult to get a table.

Delicious dessert trio!

Silver Lounges at Walt Disney World

Mjau, in the Silver Category we have put all the lounges that we think are great, but are missing that extra magic touch that would make them golden. We still feel they are worth visiting although we do not shed tears if we do not have time to visit them during our stay.

Banana Cabana

The Banana Cabana Lounge is at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. We really like the food here at Banana Cabana. We had a delicious sandwich with sweet potato fries and got barbecue sauce on the side. You should also be able to get the delicious pull apart bread rolls that they serve at Sebastian's Bistro here. The drinks here are also really good. We really like the view over Barefoot Bay so sometimes we get a drink from the lounge and take it to one of the chairs on the boardwalk instead of sitting in the Lounge. The lounge is also right by the pool so it might get a bit noisy.

Delicious sandwich and fries at Banana Cabana!

We really like this lounge however would probably not visit unless we stayed at the resort. It is a nice lounge however it is not worth a 20 minute bus ride. With the new Sky Gondolas it might be worth a visit even if you are not staying at the resort.  The main issue with Banana Cabana is the location.

Mjau, enjoying our drink by the waterfront!

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Lounge

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Lounge is at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Visiting Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Lounge is definitely a special experience. It is a mix between Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room and The Jungle Cruise. The drinks are delicious and interesting and the food was good too, although nothing to really brag about. The drinks are also available at the Trader Sams Tiki Terrace. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Lounge is almost more like an entertainment show then a lounge. Mjau, imagine a slightly less amazing version of The Enchanted Tiki Room, but with cocktail service. There are volcanic eruptions and angry Tiki Gods.

Delicious snacks and drinks at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto!

It was a really nice experience and a lounge we definitely recommend everyone to try at least once. However we will probably not visit again. It has very limited seating and you might have to share a table with strangers and even stand at the bar counter. Mjau, we prefer to be able to sit down and relax in peace. We sometimes get shy around strangers and hide in our butler's purse instead. It can also be a really long wait time until you get to go inside. They only let a limited amount of guests inside and this lounge is also very popular. We prefer flexible lounges where you get seated immediately. We were unsure if we should put Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Lounge in the Silver or in the Bronze Category. We decided on Silver as this really is an amazing and one of a kind lounge.

Mjau, dark in the grotto!

Tambu Lounge

The Tambu Lounge is also at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The lounge is right by the Ohana Restaurant. Mjau, we really enjoy the tropical drinks at Tambu Lounge. They are so refreshing and delicious. We also sometimes order the delicious Ohana Bread Pudding while at the lounge.

Delicious cocktails!

This is one of the few lounges where we do not mind sitting at the bar counter. The bar stools are comfortable and do not feel rickety. The bar counter is also wide enough so we do not feel cramped. There are a few lounge chairs and tables, however those are usually not available. If you manage to snatch one you have an amazing view, although the view is sometimes blocked by strollers and children running around, as it is usually families with children that will sit down in the lounge chairs to wait for their reservation at Ohana's. This is a lounge we like to visit for the delicious drinks more than the atmosphere. Tambu Lounge is perfect if you do a Monorail Bar Crawl, however we would not go out of our way to visit this lounge, as the seating could be an issue. Mjau, and we can be a bit impatient.

Delicious Ohana Bread Pudding!

Scat Cat's Club Lounge

Scat Cat's Club is at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Mjau, we feel a bit conflicted about this lounge. It used to be one of our favourites, however they have had a refurbishment and we have not vistied the lounge since then. We will put Scat Cat's Club in the Silver Category for now, mjau. This lounge is our Granpas' favourite lounge. The interior is nice and cozy with rich and dark leather.  Sometimes you can even listen to live music while in the lounge.

Mjau, Delicious jazzed up beignets!

The drinks are delicious but the absolute highlight was the jazzed up beignets. You got three beignets with the choice of Baileys, Kahlúa, or RumChata. We always asked for one of each. Mjau the first time we were really surprised by the fillings. When we ordered the beignets we thought it would be a creamy filling with either Baileys, Kahlúa or RumChata flavour. Mjau, what we got was three beignets with three syringes filled with just Baileys, Kahlúa or RumChata. You got to fill your own beignets with the syringes, like a fun little science project. Positively delicious. After the first visit we had to skip getting a separate drink, as the jazzed up beignets were quite strong, mjau.

The atmosphere used to be really relaxing, even with the lively jazz music, however we have heard that with the adjoining café it has become more kid friendly and loud. Mjau!

The Siamese Cat boys enjoying drinks at Scat Cat's Club!

The jazzed up beignets are the highlight!

Bronze Lounges at Walt Disney World

Mjau, this will be our list of Walt Disney World lounges we consider to be Bronze Lounges. The bronze lounges are our least favourite lounges at Walt Disney World. The Bronze ones are still worth a visit but we do not go out of our way to visit these lounges. These are the lounges that are nice but just have not impressed us that much. Mjau, we might update the list in the future when we visit new ones or if we change our opinions, mjau.

Abracadabar

Abracadabar is a magician themed lounge at Disney's Boardwalk. The interior is nice but feels really dark so we have only had our drinks at the patio outside. The view is positively wonderful as the Boardwalk is one of our favourite areas. However we feel that the drinks and overall atmosphere are not that special. If the Boardwalk is busy the view is disrupted and the atmosphere is stressful. The patio can also feel crowded if some people decide to drag their strollers and screaming children to the lounge.

Enjoying a double date at Abracadabar!

The Abracadabar is still worth a visit if you want to enjoy a drink outside in the warm Florida sun and you do not feel like entering Epcot or Hollywood Studios at the moment. We might still prefer to just grab a Margarita from Boardwalk Joe's Marvelous Margaritas and find a secluded bench to sit on. Much better view as the benches are usually right by the water.

Mjau, interesting purple drink! Magical!

Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar

The Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar is right by the entrance of Jiko - The Cooking Place at Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge. Mjau, we honestly only visited this lounge as we wanted to try the Zebratini and they did not serve that at Victoria Falls Lounge at the moment. Mjau, the seating area did not feel cozy and the chairs were not really comfortable. You were right by the entrance of the restaurant so people will walk in and out often, this does not create the relaxing environment we look for in a lounge. Mjau, it is more a place to grab a drink while you wait for your table at Jiko. However we recommend to just wait and order the drink inside the restaurant. Much better atmosphere and view. You can instead walk around the lobby or go outside to look at animals while you wait for your table to be ready. Mjau, we would not recommend going to Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar unless you really want a Zebratini and they do not serve them at Victoria Falls Lounge.

The Zebratini is positively scrumptious!

Oga's Cantina

Interesting drink at Oga's Cantina!

Mjau, Oga's Cantina is the Star Wars themed bar at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios. We went there to kill some time after riding everything we wanted to ride during the Extra Magic Hours. Mjau, it was really crowded and you had to stand by the bar counter. Mjau, the tables are difficult to get unless you travel in a big group. Mjau, it was also very loud with the droid DJ. Mjau, as we have mentioned before, we prefer to sit down in a relaxing atmosphere and enjoy our drinks. The speciality drinks were interesting and nice but felt a bit overpriced according to our butler. We would have probably enjoyed the bar more if we were bigger Star Wars fans. If you are a Star Wars fan you should definitely visit, however we will skip this bar for the far more superior ones at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

DJ, do you take requests?

Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace

Mjau, Trader Sams Tiki Terrace is at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The drinks are delicious, they are the same you can get at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace is much more accessible than Trader Sam's Grog Grotto Lounge. The seating are is however not anything special. Just regular wooden chairs and tables they have at their quick service restaurants. We have actually never sat down at their tables on the terrace. We usually just get a drink and go to one of our secret spots at the resort to enjoy the drink in peace. There is plenty of seating available at Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. Somehow it still feels a bit crowded and stressful. Mjau, not enough pillars or plants to hide behind. We also usually see a lot of children running around, which is unappealing when enjoying a drink. Mjau this is why we do not have pictures of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace.

Cítricos Lounge

Cítricos Lounge is at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Cítricos Lounge is a lounge we have mixed feelings about. The experience depends a lot on the seating. The lounge is by the restaurant so you have guests almost constantly walking by you. We prefer to be seated further away from the bar counter by the window. It feels more relaxed, mjau. There has almost always been refurbishments at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa during our visits to Cítricos Lounge, so we are not completely sure we have ever experienced the real Cítricos Lounge.

Nice view from Cítricos Lounge!

Cítricos Lounge feels really fancy and upscale, so it is nice to visit for a change. Although we really prefer lounges that feel cozy over the fancy ones. We definitely recommend that you visit Cítricos Lounge if you want to celebrate special occasions. Mjau, we had a bachelorette party here and it was really nice. The drinks here are fine, although not anything really special. We would like to see more specialty drinks, not just a big wine selection. The food has been good, however our butler thinks it is on the pricier side. Mjau, so stingy! We are on the fence on if we should put Cítricos Lounge in the Silver or Bronze category. We will have to explore Cítricos Lounge again to be able to make our decision, for now it will stay as Bronze as we do not feel drawn to visit Cítricos Lounge in the same way we feel to visit other lounges. Mjau, it might be that we just expect better from Grand Floridian, mjau.

Sophisticated bachelorette party at Cítricos Lounge!

Territory Lounge

Territory Lounge is at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. So far we have only visited Territory Lounge once, however we look forward to visiting it again someday. As one of our favourite lounges, Geyser Point Bar and Grill, is also at Disney's Wilderness Lodge we always go there instead. Territory Lounge is a good option during the winter when it gets colder or if the weather is bad. We really like the interior, it feels like something our Grandpas would enjoy, rich leather and hunting themed decor. The drinks here are really delicious. Here you can get one of our favourites, Cold Brew XO. The food here is nice although not anything special, we had the trio of sliders and felt they were a bit dry. Mjau, skip the food and just get cocktails here. If they would have better food it would be more appealing to visit more often. Territory Lounge is definitely worth a visit if it is cold outside or if Geyser Point Bar and Grill is too crowded.

Mjau, sliders and Cold Brew XO!

Lounges in Walt Disney World

One of our favourite things to do at Walt Disney World is finding a nice lounge, buying a drink and maybe a snack and just relax. We have finally decided to make a review of all the Lounges we have visited at Walt Disney World. It is really difficult to pick a favourite or 'best' lounge so we will sort the lounges in categories: Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Nomad Lounge!
Abracadabar!

Gold is for our favourite lounges, these places are our must visits. The Gold category has everything, from amazing theme, great food and drinks. Location and accessibility also plays a big role, mjau.  The Silver is for the lounges that we really like but we do not feel too bad if we do not have the time to go there during our Walt Disney World trip. Silver lounges still have good food, drinks and theme. Mjau, however these lounges usually have a small flaw. The Bronze ones are still worth a visit but we do not go out of our way to visit these lounges. These are the lounges that are nice but just have not impressed us that much. Some of them are really nice and have a lot of potential to be better. Other lounges are just missing that magical feeling we expect to find in Disney Lounges.

Disney's Hotel Santa Fe

The New Year of 2015 we were staying at Disney's Hotel Santa Fe. It was kind of a last minute decision and it was almost the only available option of the onsite hotels at Disneyland Paris. Mjau, or maybe that was what our Butler told us since it was the cheapest option.
We had spent Christmas at Disneyland Paris and decided to extend our holiday and spend New Years Eve there after spending a couple of days in Paris.

Our room at Disney's Hotel Santa Fe. Mjau we are sleeping in the bed.

The mirror in our bathroom, really nice road sign style to it.

The building our room was in. Really nice Cars details at the top.
The Santa Fe Hotel is themed after the Cars movie and is right next to Hotel Cheyenne, which is fitting.
The rooms are really nice, you can however tell they are not the same standard as the Disneyland Hotel or even Sequoia Lodge. The towels are smaller and a lot less fluffier. The beds are not as soft as the ones in Hotel Disneyland. This time we only had one Butler stay with us, the one that is cheap like Scrooge McDuck, mjau... But at least we got one bed for only us cute siamese and did not have to share with a human, fräs! No need for a pillow wall this time!
Cute siamese kittens ready for bed.
The rooms are otherwise really nice. They have Cars Route 66 theme, but you can tell that this theme was added after the hotel was already built when the movies came out and not as the original idea.

Waiting for the bus to the parks. The exterior reminds us of a drive in theatre.

We stayed there while you still got the breakfast included in the price. It was not as nice as Disneyland Hotel or even Sequoia Lodge. You had to find your own seat and even get your coffee or hot chocolate yourself, mjau, from a machine! The breakfast was mainly croissants, small baguettes and similar pastries. Mjau no pancakes.. so sad... The cantina was also really noisy and busy compared to Sequoia Lodge and Disneyland Hotel's breakfast service. This is most likely due to the breakfast not being table service at Santa Fe.

Lovely Cars themed room.

The walk to Disney Village is maybe 15 minutes. You can also take a bus but it seems like such a waste of time. The bus only takes you to the train station, so you still have to go through the same security check as everyone entering the park from the station. Sometimes you will have to wait quite a bit for the bus so it's faster to just take the scenic route and walk to the park. There are several nice details along the walk. Mjau, there is even a crashed UFO! Mjau, and you can walk through Disney's Hotel Cheyenne on the way to the park.

Overall it was a nice experience staying at the Santa Fe Hotel. Although we will probably not stay there again as we prefer the other hotels more. The Disneyland Hotel is still our favourite and the most convenient one.

Tokyo Disney Resort 2023 May

Our butler had never visited Tokyo Disneyland before so we decided to drag our butler out of their cave and generously treat them to a week ...
