Mau Christmas is only a couple of months away! We will be spending Christmas at Disneyland Paris and staying at the Disneyland Hotel. This is our absolute favourite place to celebrate Christmas, it's so magical! We have stayed there over Christmas twice before. Last year we celebrated Christmas at Disneyland Anaheim, and we must say we prefer to spend it at Disneyland Paris. There are so many more options for Christmas dinners and the Disneyland Hotel is so magical, especially if you are staying in a Christmas Room.

The Christmas Room at Disneyland Hotel. We love the decorations and we got to keep Minnie and Mickey! |
The first time we stayed there for Christmas we booked a Christmas Room. It was so magical, we got a Christmas Mickey and Minnie as gifts. We even got some Christmas tree decorations and cookies as gifts. One of the best parts of the Christmas Room was of course the Christmas tree. At the door there was a light switch so that you could immediately turn on the Christmas Lights as you stepped inside the room. Mau Magical!

Mau, the Christmas Tree is so magical! |
 |
Mau, even the bedspread is so festive! |
The second time there were no more Christmas rooms left when we made the reservation so we had to stay in a regular Standard Room. Mjau... It was not as festive as the Christmas Room but still really nice as usual. One of our butlers even brought a Christmas three so we had some decorations in the room. Although we did not get the Christmas Room we got a really nice surprise from the hotel. They gave us a bottle of champagne, a big basket of fruit and a small box of chocolate. Our butler was really exited about the champagne, mau our dumb butler almost fell asleep in the bath tub! The fruits were really nice as it is so difficult to find any fruits in the Disney Parks. We do however prefer our apples to be caramel and chocolate covered, mau!

Welcome
gift from Disneyland Hotel! |
 |
You can see the Christmas tree with the toy train in the back! The gingerbread house even had a chimney! |
We love Disneyland Paris during Christmas. It is so festive! The music is so festive at Main Street, U.S.A and the decorations are amazing. Mjau, watching the Christmas parade go down Main Street is amazing, it is even snowing. Although our butler insists it is fake snow.

Snowing in Disneyland Paris, so magical! |
We also really like the subtle Christmas decorations and details throughout the park and rides. Although this is something Disneyland in California does better. There you can see many Disney characters in It's a Small World, in Paris there is mostly only Santa. The Nightmare Before Christmas decorations in front of the Phantom Manor is really nice and fitting. During the day you can even meet Sandy Claws! Although this is not nearly as amazing as the Haunted Mansion in California that completely changes the ride to a The Nightmare Before Christmas theme. So amazing, mjau!

Another thing that makes the Christmas celebrations at Disneyland Paris better than Disneyland in Anaheim is the dining options. Mjau, shocking since the dining options in the Disney parks in the US are always better! We have tried both the Buffet and the fixed menu Christmas dinner at the Hotel New York. We have also tried the one at Plaza Gardens Restaurant. Mjau, it is difficult to decide which one we like the best. What is nice about the Plaza Gardens and the fixed menu dinner at Hotel New York is that the characters will come to your table. Mjau, you do not have to wait in line as in the buffet. The characters will also completely focus on your table. Mjau hihi, Minnie once pushed a child away when it tried to talk to her when she was with us.

A warm welcome to Plaza Gardens with music and champagne. You can see the chefs working away in the kitchen! |
The food is usually better at the buffets. Although it can be stressful to get up and get more food all the time. Fortunately we have our Butlers, mjau! We got a really nice table at the Plaza Gardens, it was to the side and in a separate room with maybe three other tables. Mjau, a lot of privacy, although long way to the food! If you wanted the pictures with all the characters, you had to wait a bit. We could see some families get impatient and leave before getting to meet all the characters. Mjau some even left the before the dessert was served in the buffet. Mjau, it took really long for the dessert to be put on display, so our butler had our waiter chase down the dessert and lead us there!
 |
The tables were nicely decorated and we even got a candy cane! We could see the castle from the window, mjau! |
 |
Mjau, they even had an ice sculpture of Mickey Mouse! |
We have also tried the Christmas dinner at Hotel New York with a fixed menu. Mjau, we got champagne to start the dinner and wine. Mjau for starters we had smoked salmon. Delicious, mjau! We really liked the dinner at Hotel New York. Santa Claus came to visit and sat at the stage so you could stand in line to meet him, sometimes Cinderella and her Prince, Wendy, Peter and even Captain Hook came up to the Stage! The characters, like Mickey, Donald and Goofy came to our table so you did not have to stay in line to meet them. A lot of people wanted to stay in line to meet the characters on stage, so they stayed in line so long that they missed their dinner.

Smoked salmon and shrimp! |
The main course was not really anything special. Was not that delicious but still good and filling. Mjau, we would have preferred more salmon!
 |
Sausage
rolled in bacon, mjau! |
Next came the cheese plate. Mjau, the French and their cheese... The cheese was good in small amount if dipped in the sauce. We do not know how anyone could eat so much cheese. With only two crackers, mjau! The dessert was good. Although one of our butlers got upset as the Christmas pudding was upside down, and raw. The dessert could have been better, but it was nice to have so many options, mjau!
 |
Mjau, so little food! |
 |
Dessert!
No grey stuff, mjau... |
The buffet at the Hotel New York was more stressful as we did not get a private table. Mjau, we had to share with strangers. Messy kids, so horrible for us cuties, mjau! The dessert however made up for it. Mjau, it was a couple of years ago so we do not remember much of the food offered at the buffet. Mjau, but we remember the desserts, so Delicious, and right by our table. The characters did not come to our table, you had to stand in line to meet them on stage so we did not bother meeting them. When we left we met Chip and Dale which made up for it, mjau! Our table was also right by the stage so we could see the characters without getting up, mjau!
